Why this part
exists.

Wheels are the part of the truck that hold everything else up.

Every kilometre, every recovery, every curb strike, every bead seal at 12 PSI in the dunes — the wheel is the load-bearing interface between the chassis and the ground. And in the LC70 segment, most owners are still running the same cast-aluminum or pressed-steel wheels Toyota delivered with the truck.
Cast wheels are made by pouring molten aluminum into a mold. They're cheap to produce and acceptable at street pressure on paved roads. They also have inconsistent grain structure, internal porosity, and a tendency to crack rather than bend under impact. On a fully-loaded LC79 dropping into a wadi at low pressure, that's not a theoretical problem.
Forged wheels are different. They're shaped from a single billet of high-density aluminum under extreme pressure — the grain structure stays continuous, the metal stays denser, and the wheel bends before it cracks. Every serious overland and rally team runs forged wheels for one reason: when the wheel takes a hit, the truck keeps going.
We didn't want to ship anything else.
The URNIETA Forged Anti-Slip Wheels are single-piece forged from high-density aluminum billet — not cast, not flow-formed, not gravity-poured. Engineered specifically for the LC70 platform: bolt pattern, hub bore, offset, and load rating all referenced to factory geometry. Available in 16-inch and 17-inch diameters to match factory tyre sizing or accept up to 35-inch off-road tyres on lifted builds. The internal bead-retention pattern improves tyre seating under low-pressure conditions — the dune-running and rock-crawling pressure range where most cast wheels lose bead seal.

03

Three things that matter.

We chose the things to optimize for and the things to leave alone. These three define how the wheel takes load and how the truck behaves on the surface most aftermarket wheels were never tested on.
Feature01

FORGED, NOT CAST.

Each wheel is shaped from a single billet of high-density aluminum under several thousand tons of forging pressure. The grain structure stays continuous through the entire wheel — no porosity, no cold spots, no internal voids. Under impact, a forged wheel deforms before it fails; a cast wheel cracks. On a loaded LC79 across washboard, that's not a margin — it's the difference between a damaged wheel and a stranded truck.
Feature02

ANTI-SLIP BEAD RETENTION.

The internal bead-seat geometry is machined with a textured retention pattern — not a smooth-bore inner rim. At low tyre pressures (12 PSI in sand, 18 PSI on rocks), the pattern bites into the tyre bead and resists bead unseating under hard cornering or recovery loads. Most cast wheels rely on pressure alone to hold the bead. URNIETA wheels hold the bead with geometry.
Feature03

FACTORY GEOMETRY, NO SPACERS.

The bolt pattern, hub bore, and offset are referenced to LC70 factory specification — the wheels mount onto the OEM hub without spacers, adapter plates, or wheel studs. ET offset is calibrated to keep the tyre under the fender on stock or moderately lifted builds (up to 35-inch tyres). The wheel sits where Toyota's engineers expected it to sit. Brake clearance, suspension geometry, and steering scrub radius all stay within factory tolerance.

01

REMOVE OEM WHEELS

Lift the vehicle on a hoist or jack stands rated for full vehicle weight. Remove the OEM wheels and inspect each URNIETA wheel for shipping damage before mounting. Confirm bolt pattern, hub bore, and offset match the values on the packaging label.
INITIAL CHECK
02

MOUNT TYRES & BALANCE

Mount tyres onto the URNIETA wheels using standard tyre fitting equipment. The forged construction accepts standard mounting procedures — no special tooling required. Balance each wheel to manufacturer specification before installation. Inspect bead seating on the anti-slip retention pattern and verify proper bead lock at standard inflation.

INSTALL & TORQUE TO SPEC

Mount each wheel onto the OEM hub using the factory wheel studs and lug nuts. Torque to LC70 factory specification (typically 110 Nm — verify in your vehicle service manual) in a star pattern across two passes. Re-torque after the first 100 km of driving to ensure proper seating. Verify tyre pressure on all four wheels before the truck leaves the bay.
